Meridian Diagnostics is a clinical diagnostic reference laboratory based in Colorado and offers services to clinics, laboratories, employers and health care organizations. Our aim is to assist healthcare providers with making informed decisions for their patients.

Meet the team at Meridian Diagnostics that is committed to professionalism in Action
Rhyan Walcott currently serves as Chief Executive Officer. With over have over 14 years of experience in the laboratory setting and business environment, Rhyan has a successful track record in start-up businesses, project management, college director and professor, environmental science laboratories, and esoteric testing laboratories throughout the United States.
Mr. Walcott earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in 2011 & Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Studies from Nova Southeastern University in 2014.
Throughout his career, Rhyan has played an incremental role in management, business start-ups and ownership, remains dedicated to education, and continues to be involved in laboratory and business development.
Samantha Walcott currently serves as Chief Quality Officer. Having a passion for science, Samantha received a bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Tampa in 2011. Immediately following graduation, she spent 6 years in the toxicology and esoteric testing lab space at Alere Toxicology/Abbott Laboratories. Throughout her time there, she acquired her Medical Technologist certification in Chemistry and gained supervisory experience in certifying science, personnel development, lab operations, and quality assurance.
Branching off in 2017 to manage independent laboratories, Samantha has led multiple accreditation certification processes across several states and routinely oversees inspections with little or no deficiencies.
Mrs. Walcott’s proven leadership skills, highly organized mindset, expertise, and experience drives her dedication to helping labs achieve and sustain a gold star standard and reputation.
Sheila Kirkpatrick earned her Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Microbiology in 2009 from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez Campus. She has over 10 years in laboratory experience, including performing testing, processing, instrumentation validation, quality control/quality assurance and laboratory operations. Her diversified background has impacted fields such as education, environmental research, military industry, pharmaceutical and medical device, biotechnology, food safety, public health, and medical fields. She feels passionate about the study of infectious diseases, so in 2021 she completed a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) to understand the impact of public health in healthcare systems and patient outcome. Currently she counts with a Medical Laboratory Scientist Certification (MLS) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and recently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Public Health (DrPH) to continue education.
Outside the laboratory Sheila Kirkpatrick loves spend time with family and friends. She also serves the community by volunteering in church with the Kids Ministry.
